On my web page I would like to present you pictures from my journeys to India and Southeast Asia. The pictures are all commented. On my site I have photos of the following countries. India - Thailand - Vietnam - Cambodia - Sri Lanka - and the Dominican Republic. Further pictures of of Laos - Nepal - Malaysia and Indonesia follow. Similarly, more trips to other countries and continents. Unfortunately I have not so much time to edit the pictures, to sketch the comments, and to place the sides in the net. It needs much time
I will not bore you with things, by reporting like exciting the flight, how was the taxi trip in Calcutta, or the course trip from Bombay to Delhi. Many others do this. Furthermore, I would like not profile myself, or tell adventure stories, although I travel a lot on my experienced. No, I would like to arrange mainly an impression of my journeys for you and to give some basic tips. Certainly, it changes a lot in short time. All information and tips are not for everyone. The informations are mainly for travelers who leave sometimes the stamped out paths from Lonely Planet and Stefan Loose leave.
On the main routes you are in contact with the Indians who have grown up with tourists and Traveller. These Indians behave (especially in Goa) is very different than when they stay at home with their family, or as locals in the country in the villages. So do not expect that you know India or you understand the indians if your travel a few months with backpack. It needs many years. I am glad that I still lived in the 80' it years in India. No comparison with nowadays. The People from the Western Countries will never understand the Indians, because India is so multi-layered.
Considering also that India, despite economic growth is still a 'Third World country ", with egregious poverty and misery, slums, garbage etc. Also Societal changes (caste system, oppression of women, etc.) still take decades, if they ever once removed. India and Indians can also be very exhausting. Not every day you will have fun. (Except your make your holiday at the beach only). Despite everything, India is certainly the most interesting country in the world. There is nowhere so much to see and admire. India is black - white | day - night | well - bad | light - darkness | sharply - sweet. Simply Yin - Yang :-)
Then I wish you a lot of fun on my webpage. If you have questions contact me.
